General information

The English Department offers two focus areas: English Literature (ELIT) or Rhetoric and Media Studies (ERMS). Honours students

must indicate their chosen focus area (ELIT or ERMS) on their registration form, no later than when registering for their 3rd year.

 

Students who wish to obtain a B.A. (general) in English should register for the ENGL program, which focuses on literature studies.

 

The website english.laurentian.ca gives detailed information on programs, courses, required textbooks, faculty assignments and

other matters.

 

Students must plan their programs with the department chair (academic advisor) or other designated consultants from the department.

 

Students obtaining at least 70% in the required 60  credits of the 4-year specialization will receive the Honours designation.
