Gerontology

The gerontology program studies aging. The purpose is to increase knowledge about old age and to improve the quality of life for seniors. The study of aging has worldwide significance in light of increasing life expectancy and the greying of baby boomers in the industrial nations.

Three or four-year programs (and a three-year distance education program) lead to a bachelor of arts in gerontology, with single or combined concentration or specialization program is aimed at both undergraduate students and human service professionals. Collaborative agreement in gerontology with Cambrian College, Georgian Gollege and George Brown College allows students flexibility to obtain both a university degree and a college diploma.
Also available: certificate of gerontology (for students of other programs) and diploma in clinical gerontology (in cooperation with community colleges)

Prospects: graduate studies, health care, human kinetics, long-term care, ministry and pastoral services, social work…

Offered in English only.
