The theatre arts program offers a personalized learning environment in which students pursue both academic and practical courses in the field by studying subjects such as acting, directing, theatre in education, history, voice, movement and Canadian theatre. Two mainstage productions are presented each year. Practical work may include specific roles or responsibilities in professional theatre productions as well as within the theatre arts program.
Three-year program leads to a bachelor of arts in theatre arts with single or combined concentration
four-year interarts program leads to an honours bachelor of fine arts, combining courses in music and theatre arts. Students have access to a 150-seat theatre that includes classroom and workshop space. General information
The purpose of the program is to allow students to explore the subject of Theatre Arts as a liberal arts discipline within the Faculty of Humanities.
For Academic Regulations, refer to those pertaining to all Bachelor of Arts (General) programs.
The Theatre Arts program is available in single or combined concentration with approval from the director of the program. A 30-credit certificate is also offered.
Students can major in Theatre Performance in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program.
