ANTHROPOLOGY DEGREES AT LAURENTIAN

Laurentian is dedicated to excellence and innovation, and offers a wide array of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. Small classes, personal attention to student needs, and active research provide an outstanding environment for learning.

Undergraduate degrees in Anthropology
include:  general 3-year, and specialized 4-year Bachelor of Arts (B.A. 3 years) and (B.A. 4 years) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. 3 years) and (B.Sc. 4 years). The 3-year B.A. and B.Sc. are flexible all-purpose degrees, which offer students a broad background that can be applied to solve practical problems in many areas. The 4-year B.A. and B.Sc. degrees provide training needed for further studies at the graduate level in anthropology. All four degrees have a solid core of courses in anthropology (biological/physical anthropology, archaeology, sociocultural anthropology/linguistics and applied anthropology). The two B.A. degrees have an applied focus on health, cultural resource management (archaeology, heritage), social planning and development, and forensic anthropology. The B.Sc. degrees have a focus on forensic/physical anthropology and scientific archaeology. The B.Sc. in Anthropology offers an excellent first undergraduate degree for those students interested in pursuing a professional career in science, medicine or other health professions. Laurentian also offers the flexibility of double majors in Anthropology and related disciplines; and a one-year Honours Diploma (for students interested in upgrading their 3-year B.A. or B.Sc. in Anthropology).
