The Martes Working Group’s primary objective is to facilitate communication among people with a common interest in Martes research, conservation, and management programs. The group’s key accomplishments include: 

1) four-year cycle international symposia in Canada, United States, and Europe;

2) the publication of their scientific proceedings;

3) the publication of an annual Newsletter;

4) the maintenance of a website.

The Group was formed in 1993 and consists of approximately 100 members involved in the conservation and management of marten, sable and fisher species that compose the genus Martes.

L’objectif primaire du Groupe de travail Martes est de faciliter la communication entre les personnes ayant un intérêt commun dans la recherche et la conservation des martres et celles ayant un intérêt dans les programmes de gestion des martres.  Les accomplissements majeurs du groupe sont :

1)  un symposium international ayant un cycle de quatre ans au Canada, aux États-Unis et en Europe;

2)  la publication de leurs compte-rendus scientifiques;

3)  la publication d’un bulletin annuel;

4)  l’entretien d’un site web.

Le groupe a été formé en 1993 et consiste d’environ 100 personnes qui sont impliquées dans la conservation et la gestion des martres, zibelines et pékans du genre Martes.
