
The Martes Working Group’s primary objective is to facilitate communication among people with a common interest in Martes research, conservation, and management programs. The group’s key accomplishments include:
1) four-year cycle international symposia in Canada, United States, and Europe;
2) the publication of their scientific proceedings;
3) the publication of an annual Newsletter;
4) the maintenance of a website.
The Group was formed in 1993 and consists of approximately 100 members involved in the conservation and management of marten, sable and fisher species that compose the genus Martes.
