Congratulations

Congratulations to Ph.D. candidate Nashieli Garcia Alaniz for receiving a CONACYT Scholarship from Mexico in the amount of $20,000.00 for the final year of her degree 2008-09. Nashieli's thesis topic is " Felid Predator/Prey Systems Associated with the Montes Azules Biosphere Reserve and the Surrounding Lacandon Forest, Chiapas, Mexico" and her co-supervisors are Dr. Frank F. Mallory and Dr. Abdel Omri.

Congratulations to Jesse Popp, M.Sc. student for receiving the Government of Ontario - Tembec Graduate Scholarship in Science & Technology worth $10,000.00. Jesse's thesis is entitled "Genetic and Population Analysis of the Mealy Mountain Caribou Herd, Laborador: An Assessment of Meta-Population Status and Site Fidelity" and her co- supervisors are Dr. Frank F. Mallory and Dr. James Schaefer.

Dr. Joe Shorthouse has received a grant from the Barcoding of Life people at the University of Guelph to undertake a comparative study of the genetic profile of the species of Diplolepis gall wasp that he has found across Canada.
