Instructors for the course for 2011 - Dr. Hoyun Lee (Senior Career Scientist with the Regional Cancer Centre of the Sudbury Regional Hospital) and James Knockleby (Postdoctoral Fellow)
The course will focus on the fundamental concept of molecular genetics, including the regulation of DNA replication, transcription, and translation. Additionally, students will review recombination and yeast genetics. As the class progresses further, students will be exposed to cutting-edge technologies that have been the engines of “big science” including, human genome and proteomic projects, synthetic genetics, and array-based gene analysis.
