FAQ

Before you decide to register . .

Do you have the time and support required to successfully complete an Envision course? If you are uncertain, try this brief questionnaire. It is designed to help you determine if you can fit an Envision course into your life at this time.

1. Do you have 10 to 15 hours a week work on an Envision (which could include readings, assignments, research, studying, etc.)?

2. If you will be taking a course that has an on-line component, do you have a computer and Internet access?

For the specific technical requirements (hardware and software) for your computer, refer to the WebCT guide.

3. Do you have the technical equipment (as listed with the course description) for the course(s) that you are planning to take (e.g. VCR, DVD, CD or audio-cassette player)?

4. Are you able to work independently?

5. Do you have good reading, writing and research skills?

6. Invigilated exams are on set dates (usually Saturdays and evenings). Are you able to arrange your schedule to attend the exams?

7. Do you have the support of your family and employer?

If you need help to decide whether or not Envision courses are for you, contact the academic advisor at the Centre for Continuing Education at (705) 675-1151, ext. 3942. He'll be happy to talk with you about the time and effort required to succeed and the student support services we offer.
