| Registration/Course Changes 2009-10 |

Returning students must register and complete course changes on-line through WebAdvisor.
-
New applicants should send their completed admission and registration forms at the same time, by mail or by fax to (705) 675-4891. You must complete subsequent course changes and future registrations on WebAdvisor.

STEP ONE (GroupWise)
Your GroupWise account is your university assigned e-mail account. All Laurentian University students and alumni have an e-mail account through this application.
To get your username and password for GroupWise:
- • Activate your Web browser.
- • Enter webmail.laurentian.ca or webmail2.laurentian.ca.
- • Select language of choice and click GO.
- • Type in your username which is usually the initial of your first name followed by the initial of your middle name, followed by an underscore and your last name (e.g., RD_Parker); if you do not have a middle name, type an "X" as the initial of your middle name followed by an underscore (e.g., RX_Parker). Your password consists of your date of birth, plus the last 3 digits of your Laurentian University student number (mmddyy###). If you encounter problems accessing your GroupWise account, contact the Helpdesk at (705) 675-1151, ext. 2200, or at helpdesk.
-
- To get your username and password for WebAdvisor:
-
- • Open the e-mail from "Datatel Master" which contains your Login Name and Password for WebAdvisor (both are case sensitive). If the message is no longer in your mailbox, e-mail WebAdvisor and request that it be re-sent to you.
- STEP TWO (Course Selection)
-
-
-
-
- • Prior to using WebAdvisor, select your courses, including labs. If you select a course with multiple lab sections, please select only one lab section.
- • WebAdvisor will not accept your registration if you do not possess the prerequisite(s) identified in the course description. If you want to request special permission to register in a course, contact the academic department.
- • Ensure that you do not have any time conflicts.
- • Note the term (e.g. 2008SP, 2008FW, 2008F, 2009W) and the Synonym for each course. This is the four-digit
number adjacent to each course code (example 6299), as listed in the Envision and On Campus sections, and on WebAdvisor.
STEP THREE (Using WebAdvisor)
- Once you have your Login name and Password for WebAdvisor, proceed to WebAdvisor.
- • Select WebAdvisor for Students.
- • Select Register for classes…Select Continue Registering.
- • Select Express Registration.
- • Enter your WebAdvisor Login name and Password.
- • Enter the Synonym and Term for each course in which you want to register. Click Submit. A resolution screen will appear indicating the choices you have made; verify the status of your courses (Registered or Failed).
- • Return to the main menu.
- • Select My Class Schedule.
- • Choose the 2008AS (Spring) or 2008AW (Fall/Winter).
- • Print your schedule which is now your confirmation of registration.
Note: There are several HELP screens and a FAQ to guide you through the various features on WebAdvisor. If, after reading these, you still encounter problems, call (705) 675-1151, ext. 3902, 3906 or 3907, or e-mail WebAdvisor.
The On-Campus courses for Fall/Winter are not listed on this web site. You may, however, search WebAdvisor for these.

A Note of Caution - All Registrations
• Be sure you are in the proper course and section. • If you are not officially registered in a course section as of the course change deadline, you will not receive credit for it. • If you register for a course section and, for some reason, do not attend, and yet have not officially withdrawn from it prior to the course change deadline, you will receive an "F" (failure) on your academic record. • If you fail, or withdraw from, a 1st term course, you will not automatically be withdrawn from the relevant 2nd term course (e.g. MATH 1036/MATH 1037). You must officially withdraw from the 2nd term course. • If in doubt, ask your course supervisor/instructor if your name is on the class list, or check with the Office of the Registrar.
