As this year’s Research and Seminar course comes to an end, I would like to congratulate all 16 students for all the effort and dedication invested into their research projects during the last seven months. I hope that your overall experience working in a research laboratory was enjoyable and rewarding, and that you are proud of your fine achievements. Indeed, completion of the 4th year research project is not only a major milestone on the way to your B.Sc. degree, but may also serve as an important stepping stone on your future career paths.
I would also like to take the opportunity to thank all the professors who were involved in supervising our CHMI 4615/55 students. I am especially grateful to Drs. Arteca, Gauthier, Shepherd and Merritt, who devoted many hours to the course as members of the evaluation committee. I also thank all faculty members who chaired the many Research Proposal Seminars, and Drs. Joly, Arteca, Gauthier and Shepherd for chairing the Minisymposium. I am also indebted to Diane Gillham who always provided a helping hand with organizational matters. Finally, I would like to thank Paul Guérin and Luc Beaudet for their assistance with putting this brochure together.
Sincerely,
Stefan Siemann
