How long does it take to complete a Laurentian MBA?
The Laurentian MBA requires the completion of twenty courses. Students typically take four or five courses per semester, so the Laurentian MBA takes between 20 and 24 months (two years) to complete on a full-time basis However, if you have an undergraduate degree in business administration (or an equivalent program), you may be eligible to receive advanced standing for up to ten one-semester courses, which would shorten the length of the program to one year. Please note that advanced standing is not guaranteed. Advanced standing will be assessed once you are accepted in the program.
If courses are taken on a part-time basis, you have up to 8 years to complete the program. However, most part-time students complete their degree requirements in 4 to 5 years.
When and where are classes held? 
All courses are offered on the main campus of Laurentian University in Sudbury. They are taught in one of two distinct styles:
· Three-hour evening sessions once per week (4-7pm or 7-10pm)
· Executive style (intensive weekend for 4 weeks per course – May, June & July)
Do I need an undergraduate degree to qualify for Laurentian’s MBA? 
A four-year undergraduate degree with a 70% average, in any field, is required. However, if you have at least eight years work experience, we encourage you to submit an application for the Laurentian MBA. In exceptional cases, such candidates are considered for admission into the program, as long as all other criteria are met.
Do I need any full-time work experience to qualify for the Laurentian MBA? 
Applicants are required to have at least two years of full-time intermediate work experience, summer employment excluded. This work experience should include a significant level of responsibility. For example, a bank clerk has little responsibility, whereas a loans officer has significant responsibility. Top students may be admitted without the two years of experience.
How much does the Laurentian MBA cost? 
The Laurentian MBA charges tuition by the course, plus some minor ancillary charges. The Canadian figures below are for 2005-06.
Canadian Students $597.30 per course (3 credits)
& Permanent Residents
If you take 20 courses, the total cost is $11,947. If you take 17 courses due to advanced standings, the total cost is $10,154.
International Students $1194.60 per course (3 credits)
If you take 20 courses, the total cost is $23,892. If you take 17 courses due to advanced standings, the total cost is $20,308.
These amounts do not include the costs associated with residence, compulsory health insurance, transportation, etc… and the general cost of living. It is estimated that these additional costs add up to $4,000 and $5,000 per semester.
