Thanks to advanced standings, you may be able to shorten the duration of your studies.
Advanced standing credits are assessed after you have been formally admitted into the graduate program. Advanced standing will be granted if the course(s) you have taken have content similar to that of our 5000 series courses. If you hold an honours degree in business administration, or an equivalent, you may receive advanced standing for up to thirty credits, provided that you obtained a mark of 70% (B grade) or higher on each course. That will leave you with thirty new credits to obtain in your MBA studies. These students will be required to complete COMM 6006/6007, and eight elective courses at the 6000 level. No advanced standing will be given for 6000-level courses (or for the two 4000-level courses you may take with permission).
We recommend that you review the 5000 series courses and assess whether you are likely to obtain advanced standing credits. To facilitate obtaining advanced standings, identify the equivalent courses in your undergraduate degree and obtain their course descriptions in English before you appear on campus to begin your studies.
