As part of the Co-Op B.Sc. option in Geology program, MERC, CEMI, Mirarco, and the Department of Earth Sciences run a series of workshops.  Below are a list of the upcoming and previously offered workshops.  For more information about this program option please email Dr. Harold Gibson at hgibson@laurentian.ca.

Co-Op B.Sc. Workshop - APGO Preparation Course:
Saturday, March 27 and Sunday, March 28, 2010, WGMC

We welcome students and professionals to attend a Co-Op B.Sc. Workshop for a preparation course about the APGO professional practice and ethics (PPE) exam to be presented by Mr. Yungwirth on Saturday and Sunday March 27-28.  This is free for students.  Click here for more information and registration details.

Co-Operative B.Sc. in Scientific and Technical Writing Workshop:
October 17 and 18, 2009, in the WGMC room B8045

The objective of this workshop is to provide tools, tips, and guidelines related to procedure and skills of scientific and technical writing.  For more information on the course, please download the schedule in PDF format.

Co-Operative B.Sc. in First Nation Issues and Exploration Workshop:
February 7, 2009, WGMC

Thank you to all the presenters and participants of the workshop entitled "First Nation Issues and Exploration Workshop: Two sides of the Coin".  Please visit the workshop webpage for more information and the presentations will be made available in PDF format shortly.  This purpose of this workshop is to educate geology, and earth science undergraduate and graduate students on issues related to conducting exploration on First Nation lands, and to learn about the main concerns of First Nation peoples in regard to exploration. The workshop will be presented by experts from First Nation communities in Northern Ontario, from the mining industry, and from government.

Co-Operative B.Sc. in Mineral Exploration Workshop:
November 22 & 23, 2008, WGMC

Thank you to all the presenters and participants of the first workshop offered in Mineral Exploration.  The objective of this workshop is to provide an introduction to exploration, and to the procedure and skills required to go from a discovery to a mine.
