Health and Safety Orientation Training

Statistics show that, in the first three months of employment, employees suffer a disproportionate number of work-related injuries.  Orientation training provides many benefits.  For example, orientation training makes the employee aware of the hazards of the job, how these are controlled and how they affect his or her safety and that of others.

Orientation training also ensures that we all meet legal requirements.  All employees are required to participate in training for the following:

A.   Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)

Live sessions:  Please visit the OHS webpage for times

On-line sessions:  You can register with Gail Cowper Benoit

CD library:  You can borrow the CD by contacting Jeanine St.Jean.

B.   Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities (AODA)

Visit the AODA website for more information

C.   Respectful Workplace and Learning Environment (policy and program)

Visit the Human Rights website for more information

D.   Prevention of Workplace Violence

Visit the Security Services website for more information.
