Communication Studies

Communication Studies

The purpose of our program in Communication Studies is to provide a broad introduction to the field along with a focussed core of professional formation. A unique feature of  the program is the requirement for either a cultural studies or a native studies component.

Graduates of our program are literate in matters of contemporary communications theory, technology, cultural sensitivity, and ethical reflection. They also have a theoretical and pragmatic knowledge that allows them to pursue careers in fields such as journalism, public relations and advertising.

Communication Studies is a four-year program leading to a Bachelor of Arts. The degree is a cooperative program of courses offered at Laurentian University and Cambrian College. A fourth-year focus is required in either journalism, public relations or advertising.

The Huntington University Communications Society, a student organization, also has a web site, blog, and a program of activities.
