FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join with my team?

If you have a team and wish to register, just fill in the team roster and submit your form to the Active Living MAIN office, room 109-Active Living Centre, with any applicable fees.  The registration period for each sport can be found on the Intramural Sports Master Schedule.  Day time hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm (excluding lunch).    It should be noted that each team MUST have a designated Captain and a second contact person on each registration form and one of those individuals MUST attend the Captain’s Meeting (see below for details).

NOTE:  Sign up forms are available in the Active Living Office – Room 109 – Active Living Centre) or may be found on this site under registration

How do I join if I don’t have a team and still want to participate?

If you do not have a team, but still wish to take part in Intramural Sports, please contact an Intramural staff member or the Intramural Program Coordinator at 705-675-1151 ext. 1082 or 1018.  Your name will go on a list from which a team will be made.   If there is an insufficient number of players on the “Pick Up” team, your name will be taken to the Captain’s meeting and every effort will be made to have you included on an existing team.

What sports are available?

Core sports are offered yearly, (ex. Basektball, Soccer, and Volleyball) while individual and more unique sports are offered on a cycling basis.  Please see the Master Schedule for event details.

Who can play?

Only full time students of Laurentian University are eligible to take part in the Intramural Sports Program.  Part-time students may be permitted to fill up a league (space permitting).  Please see “Eligibility” for more details.

When/Where is the Team Captain’s Meeting?

Team Captain’s meetings are listed for each specific sport on the Intramural Master Schedule (last column).  Generally, the meetings are held in the Ken Bahnuk Lounge, Ben Avery Building (where the pool is) at 4:30 pm, on the date indicated on the Intramural Master Schedule.  All teams MUST be represented at the meeting in order to be eligible to play.
