For the last several years, the library has been absorbing costs associated with interlibrary loan, and we have prided ourselves in obtaining material wherever it was available - within Canada or beyond - for all patrons regardless of status.

For many, this service will continue. Unfortunately the library’s new budget realities have forced it to modify its “no cost” policy.

Effective 1 January, additional charges will apply to the following:

$       Items from outside of Canada: Library will cover first $30; patron any extra

$       Items from Canadian institutions not covered by reciprocal borrowing agreements: library  will cover $12; patron any extra

Patrons will be notified before their request is processed if these charges apply, so that they can accept the charges or cancel their request.

Depuis plusieurs années, la Bibliothèque assume les frais liés au prêt entre bibliothèques. Nous sommes en effet très fiers d’obtenir pour tous les utilisateurs de la Bibliothèque le matériel demandé, que ce soit au Canada ou ailleurs.

Ce service continuera d’être offert mais la réalité budgétaire fait en sorte que la Bibliothèque doit modifier sa politique afin que certains frais soient imputés aux utilisateurs.

Ainsi, à compter du 1^er janvier 2010, les frais ci-dessous seront en vigueur :

   $          Matériel provenant de l’extérieur du Canada : la Bibliothèque paie 30 $ et l’utilisateur paie l’excédent, le cas échéant.

   $          Matériel des établissements canadiens n’ayant pas d’ententes réciproques d’emprunt : la Bibliothèque paie 12 $ et l’utilisateur paie l’excédent, le cas échéant.

Si des frais s’imposent, nous informerons d’abord la personne qui nous indiquera alors si elle accepte les frais inhérents ou désire annuler sa demande.
