You can send your reference questions to us via electronic mail, and a member of our reference staff will answer it shortly.

How long will it take before I receive my answers?

We will try to answer your questions as quickly as possible, within a limit of 24 hours. Each time you send a request you receive an "acknowledgement of receipt" note automatically. If not received within 10 minutes, please send your request again.

Will you answer any questions?

Almost. We will answer all your quick-reference or troubleshooting questions on any library-related topics. Typical questions we will be able to answer are:

  • Does the J.N Desmarais own this item (book, journal, videotape etc.)?
  • If not, where can I find it?
  • Can you find this article for me (article's title OR author provided) ?
  • How do I use the library catalogue?
  • How can I search for journal articles?
  • How can I access the proxy server?
  • How do I renew my books from home?
  • How can I search the Internet?
    Etc ...

Unfortunately, due to time-resources limitations, we will not be able to answer questions such as:

  • Can you send me a bibliography on such or such topic?
  • I would like a list of all you have or can find on ... ?
  • Can you find some journal articles for me on ... ?
  • Does the LU bookstore have ... ?
  • How can I find something on the Registrar's or other services' website?
    Etc ...
