Elizabeth F. Wenghofer, PhD

Before being appointed Director of the School of Rural and Northern Health on July 1, 2011, Elizabeth served as Interim Research Director of CRaNHR from April 2010 to June 2011. She joined the School of Rural and Northern Health at Laurentian University in 2007 where she teaches in the Interdisciplinary PhD Program in Rural and Northern Health. She holds cross appointments with the School of Human Kinetics and in the Human Sciences Division of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. Prior to joining Laurentian, she led the research activities of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario for 11 years and continues to work closely with the College on several research projects.
Elizabeth completed her PhD in Health Services and Systems Research at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto in 2005. Elizabeth's research interests lie in the areas of physician performance, continuing medical education/professional development, health human resources planning, professional governance and program evaluation. Her current research activities investigate the factors that influence practice performance throughout a physician's career, particularly focusing on understanding the relationships between performance, the practice environment and continuing professional development. |
