General information

A joint department whose members are drawn from the departments of Philosophy of University College (UC) and the University of Sudbury (US) is responsible for the teaching of Philosophy at Laurentian University. The department offers programs of study in different areas of the subject (i.e. history of philosophy, social philosophy, ethics, etc.).

 

Students are advised to consult the department chair or faculty members for help in their program or course selection.

 

The Department of Philosophy offices are located on the main campus, at Laurentian University and at the University of Sudbury.

Note: Students may include a maximum of 42 credits at the 1000 level in their degree program.

 

Bachelor of Arts (general) in Philosophy (3-year)

Qualifying year

This 30-credit program is designed for students who have a B.A. with a concentration in Philosophy and an average of at least 70% in all concentration courses.
