Admission Requirements
For admission into the program, students require an Honours degree (or equivalent) in Physics.
Applicants that have an Honours degree (or equivalent) in an appropriately related Science or Engineering area can be admitted directly into the program but may have to complete some extra courses at the undergraduate level.
Completion of a qualifying year will be required for students having only a General degree. No support is provided during this qualifying year. Upon successful completion of the qualifying year, the student must apply again.

We have revised our admission procedure in 2007 and impose now a
Application dead line - March 1st:
All applications for entry in the program in September, January and May
must be RECEIVED by the Department BY MARCH 1ST
Please take into account mail delivery time and processing time in the admissions office (up to two weeks).
Applications submitted after the dead line will only be contemplated if positions are available. Please direct any inquiry to the coordinator farine@snolab.ca.
Application Procedure
To apply please follow the Admission Procedure:
- Applications are now processed on-line: PLEASE CLICK HERE TO APPLY
- Make sure you return all documents as required, and that the application fee is paid. Note that three letters of reference are requested. The Admission Office will not foward your application to the Department until it is complete. Any missing document will retard the process.
- Once the application package is complete it is forwarded to the Department for evaluation
- Applications are ranked and matched with available positions
- Applicants meeting the admission criteria are contacted and interviewed (usually by phone)
- The Department signifies its decision in the first week of April to the University
- If the application is not accepted, the University notifies the applicant
- If the application is successful, the University issues an offer to the applicant
- The applicant signs the offer and returns it to the University
- Arrangements can now be made with the future supervisor
