NSWK 4605 E: FIELD INSTRUCTION II
A continuation of NSWK 3605 which aims to deepen and extend the student’s learning and development. All field students are required to do journaling and complete an Assignment (substantial piece of work). Students are required to attend field instruction seminars. One Placement must be completed in a Native agency and one placement to be completed in a Non-Native agency. Compulsory for all students.
PREREQ: NSWK 3605 & NSWK 4305 (this course may be taken concurrently). 6 cr.
Course Objectives - NSWK 4605 E - FIELD INSTRUCTION II
Students will demonstrate:
1. The ability to function at a starting professional level, within the service delivery and relevant environment systems.
2. Having an ability to function effectively with two or more kinds of client system, including one macro-system.
3. Positive and consistent use of social work principles, values, ethics and knowledge in all professional interactions.
4. Having performed consistently and well in the learning situation.
5. Having developed those skills targeted from the third year final evaluation.
Assignment: Choose 2 of the above objectives from 1, 2 and 3. Write a minimum of 10 pages relating the objectives to the agency experience.
