This french report from "Le Téléjournal" highlights the research undergoing in Dr. Leduc's microbiology laboratory. Dr. Leduc and collaborator Dr. Ferroni, from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, are investigating the possibility of novel antibiotics in northern plants.

Ontario Biology Day

The Canadian Light Source editorial board has highlighted a paper published in part by Laurentian University’s Dr. Belzile.  The Canadian Light Source Inc. is Canada’s national synchrotron facility. They periodically select important research that made use of their facility. Dr. Belzile, from the Chemistry & Biochemistry Department at LU, was part of a collaboration headed by Vancouver-based Lorax Environmental Services which published a paper in Environmental Science & Technology dealing with selenium speciation in water/sediment.  Read more here.

Professor Baiden is invited to Exploration Telerobotics Symposium

Dr. Greg Baiden, professor at Laurentian University`s Bharti School of Engineering, has been invited to the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center to participate in the first Exploration Telerobotics Symposium. Dr. Baiden will contribute to a committee discussing terrestial telerobotics and feed-forward to space exploration.  He will be alongside William ‘Red’ Whittaker, world famous robotocist, from Carnegie Mellon University.
