
BURSARIES
WOMEN STUDIES
Students must submit completed bursary application forms to the Student Awards Office, 1st floor, R.D. Parker Building. A Bursary application forms can be printed using Adobe Acrobat. Unless otherwise, specified, only one bursary application forms is required for all bursaries.
RUTHCO Bursary
- Requirements: The student recipient will have made a significant contribution to social justice issues and be studying full-time at Laurentian University with preference given to students studying women’s studies, social work, or Native human services. The student must have a 75% average, be a resident of Ontario and demonstrate financial need. Application required. The RUTHCO Bursary was established by Nancy Ruth to honour the lives and values of her Sudbury colleagues and friends, Mary Lue Hinds and Anne Cole.
- Value: $5,000
The Sudbury YWCA Bursary
- Requirements: A mature student (female) entering any year of an undergraduate program, on the basis of financial need. Preference is given to students whose program of study relates to the topic of Violence against Women. Students must submit a short outline of their interest in or work on the subject of Violence against Women. Application required.
- Value: $250
The SGA Capital Campaign Bursaries
- Requirements: Students who are SGA members, Ontario residents as defined by OSAP, have financial need, are active in extracurricular activities and meet the other criteria specified below. Students must submit a short statement outlining how they meet criteria. Application required. Donated by the SGA to the University's Capital Fundraising Campaign (1997), the following bursaries are awarded annually
