BURSARIES

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

Students must submit completed bursary application forms to the Student Awards Office, 1st floor, R.D. Parker Building. A Bursary application forms can be printed using Adobe Acrobat. Unless otherwise, specified, only one bursary application forms is required for all bursaries.

The Lucien Matte Foundation Bursaries

  • Requirements: Students enrolled in the teacher-training program, on the basis of financial need. Selection is made on the recommendation of the director of the School of Education.

The Senator Rhéal Belisle Bursaries

  • Requirements: Students enrolled in the teacher-training program, on the basis of financial need. Selection is made on the recommendation of the director of the School of Education. Value: variable

Noëlle Ladouceur Bursary

  • Requirements: Established by Noëlle Ladouceur, to provide financial assistance to one student enrolled in the “École des sciences de l’éducation, and to one student enrolled in the Baccalauréat en education - English”.  Application is required.
  • Value: $5,000

Dr. Patricia Falter Excellence in Teaching Award

  • Requirements: Established by the School of Education, is awarded annually to a full time student with financial assistance completing in their Professional year of the BEd program at Laurentian University, the student must be recommended to the Ontario College of Teachers. The student may use the award to set up their first classroom.  Application is required.
  • Value: variable

Jeanne d’Arc Sullivan Memorial Bursary

  • Requirements: Established by family and friends. The purpose of this award is to provide financial assistance to a sole support parent studying at Laurentian University who is enrolled in the School of Education, (English program) or l’École des sciences de l’éducation. The bursary will be awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need, and Ontario residency as defined by OSAP. Value is variable. Application is required.

French Language Teacher Education Program Bursary

 

  • Requirements:  Established through planned giving, this award provides financial assistance to a full-time student enrolled in a program offered by the French-language School of Education. Students must demonstrate financial need, be Ontario residents as defined by OSAP, live in northern Ontario, have an overall average of at least 70% and take a majority of courses in French. Application is required.
