Revised Research Manual

Beginning in a new position and attempting to initiate a research program can be complicated when you are not completely familiar with the various issues regarding all aspects of research (i.e.  budgets, requirements (space), proposal preparation, deadlines, etc.). Whether you are conducting research in social sciences, physics, or education, there are many steps between the day you identify an idea to the day you complete the project.  When I began as a new faculty I remember the number of questions I had to ask to finally accomplish the first steps! The challenge is that with each type of research, the requirements differ and it is important to understand them before developing the proposal rather than struggling later on.

This manual was prepared to help you think about the various aspects you should consider while developing and then conducting a research project. It is hoped this manual will help you in your endeavours and reduce the time you will need to figure out where to go for information
