Adaptations to climate change cover all actions aimed at reducing the negative effects of global warming while recognizing the potential beneficial impacts.
These actions can help make us less vulnerable to the impacts of climate variability and extremes that we are presently experiencing and will see more of in the future.
We can adapt to climate change and prepare to better respond to changing conditions in our region by integrating new actions and strategies into our daily lives.
There are four adaptive strategies: reduce, remove, accommodate, and avoid.
Keep an eye out for the development of severe weather and the issuance of extreme weather advisories and warnings for your area to be better prepared.
Check on neighbours and family members that may require special consideration and attention during extreme weather events and community emergencies.
