Every university faces the challenge of helping its researchers communicate the significance of their work to the public. Public understanding of science and scholarship has become an increasingly important element in this day and age. People want to know what is going on behind the doors of their institutions and how these activities may impact their lives.
We have developed The Key, in response to this demand for knowledge. Through this research magazine, we hope to bridge the gap between academics and everyday people- providing a clearer understanding of who our researchers really are, why they do what they do, how their research works and how this work fits into daily life.
The purpose of this magazine is to show various external and internal audiences the breadth, diversity, importance and quality of research conducted at Laurentian and showcase the goals and outcomes of the work done here.
For Laurentian, this is but one of our many efforts undertaken to promote research not only at the local level but also at the regional, provincial and national levels. This is a communication tool that will help link researchers from here to the rest of the world.
