In August, the one-week summer institute is offered free of charge to students with learning disabilities.

Office staff encourage awareness of various disabilitles, continue to promote innovation on campus, educate the community in regards to issues of accessibility and help students self-advocate and develop skills for a self-sufficient lifestyle.

Support staff are pleased to offer:

  • Learning skills / Learning strategies
  • Accommodations for tests and exams
  • Assistance with bursaries and OSAP applications
  • Writing assistance, tutors, and interpretation services.

As well, staff are advocates within the community for individuals with disabilities and are overseeing Laurentian's implementation of standards under the Accessibility for Ontarios with Disabilities Act (AODA) which includes the formation of the Annual Accessibility Plan which continues to explore Laurentian's commitment to accessibility on campus and offers reccomendations for continued improvement.
