Although applications are accepted year round, applicants who are interested in starting the program in a specific session, must submit their application by the deadline date for that session.

Admission Requirements:

All candidates must be CGAs or senior CGA students in good standing with the Certified General Accountants Association. Through the provincial/territorial/regional CGA affiliate or international program office, an applicant must submit the following documentation:

• Completed Application for Admission form and a $60 application fee payable to Laurentian. This fee is non-refundable;
• A curriculum vitae outlining prior post secondary academic and professional education and a detailed description of work experiences, including description of duties, responsibilities, and accomplishments;
• Official transcripts for all post secondary education and a CGA professional studies transcript which will be provided by your regional association (Important notice: International transcripts must include the original transcript and the translated version. Laurentian University also requires proof of graduation with each international transcript (degree certificate in original language and translated version). An application with missing educational transcripts and proof of graduation will not be processed in the session applied for);
• Three letters of reference on a standardized form; and
• A letter of application (between 500 and 1000 words).

Admission to the MBA program is competitive and will be based on the Laurentian University Admission Committee’s relative rankings of applications. The Committee will review each application individually and assess each applicant’s own combination of prior education, work experience and unique strengths in determining the applicant’s ability to successfully undertake the MBA program.

Generally, the following admission requirements apply:

• Completion of Levels 1-4 of the CGA program or equivalent
• Minimum two years of work experience
• A recognized undergraduate degree or equivalent
• 70% or a B average in prior post secondary and professional education

Applicants without an undergraduate degree can be considered for admission provided they have achieved significant work experience at a senior management level and have demonstrated a strong academic aptitude (e.g., CGA exams, post-secondary studies, GMAT score).  In some cases, applicants without an undergraduate degree or college diploma may be required to complete up to an additional 12 credits of qualifying studies prior to unconditional admission into the program.

Completion of the CGA designation and/or presentation of a GMAT score are not required for admission but will strengthen an application.

While Laurentian University is solely responsible for determining MBA admission, prospective students are encouraged to contact their respective regional CGA Association for admission counseling.
