SUDBURY, ON - Laurentian Athletics is proud to announce that Voyageurs hockey player, MacAuley Carr (Ridgeway, ON), has been named the Perkins Female Athlete of the Week.
Carr, the 1st year Sport & Physical Education student, broke through offensively for the Voyageurs as they split their weekend contests in Toronto. Saturday, against Toronto, Carr registered her first point of her career as she assisted on the team’s first goal. Sunday, against Ryerson, Carr tallied her first goal in CIS competition as she scored the winning goal with just over a minute left in the game. Adding the offensive dimension to Carr’s stellar defensive play is a nice boost for the Voyageurs as they enter the exam break in 9th place with a 6-9 record.
Carr and her Voyageurs are now off for exams and the Christmas break and will resume action on January 11th when they welcome the Windsor Lancers to town.
