Campus Master Plan

Laurentian University is creating a new Master Plan for the Sudbury campus. Your thoughts and ideas will continue to inform the master planning process.

Where are we in the process?

On Wednesday February 6, 2013, members of the Laurentian community participated in the second round of events for the Campus Master Planning Process. Building on the work and outcomes from the public kick off in November, stakeholders and members of the public learned more about, and provided input to the emerging campus conceptual design framework, which includes: the emerging vision; principles; and conceptual directions, to guide the planning process. On November 14^th and 15^th, 2012, a wide spectrum of the campus community attended the official launch events for the Campus Master Planning process. The events provided campus stakeholders and members of the public with an opportunity to learn more about the objectives, timeline and deliverables for the study, and to contribute to the preliminary visioning, principles, and conceptual opportunities that will guide the planning process. How do I get involved?

The next public Open House is scheduled for Wednesday April 3^rd, 2013. The event will be held at Alumni Hall, from 3:30pm – 5:00pm. The Open House will provide a summary of the work completed to date, and seek your feedback on a number of items, including a refined conceptual design framework to guide growth and change on the Sudbury campus over the planning horizon. We hope to see you there!  

Over the coming months, there will be other opportunities to get involved in the process. An overview diagram is provided below; please watch the project website for further updates and additional details about how you can become involved.

The Discussion Guide is a tool for the Laurentian community, and an invitation to participate in the master planning process! Inside, you’ll find an overview of the master planning process, as well as series of questions designed to gather your thoughts about the Sudbury campus. The Discussion Guides are designed to feed into the larger process - the responses are being integrated as part of the foundation for moving forward, informing our understanding of the opportunities and challenges that the new plan must address.

Once you’ve completed the guide, follow the instructions on the last page to submit the document, to ensure your thoughts and ideas are included in the process!
