The Laurentian University MBA program is designed for Certified General Accountants (CGAs) and students in the final level of the CGA Program of Professional studies.
The program builds on existing knowledge and skills, as well as focuses on topics that accountants need to move into more senior positions: marketing, organizational behaviour and strategic management.
The Laurentian University MBA program will enable you to achieve your goal of obtaining a quality education at a North American institution that will lead you on a path to a successful career.
Program Requirement
The MBA program of study offered through this initiative is based on the online MBA program developed in partnership with CGA-Canada. The degree will be offered in a traditional classroom environment on the Laurentian University campus in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.
To complete the MBA, students must meet all of the requirements of the CGA Program of Professional Studies, excluding the experience requirement.
Advanced standing will be provided for the first 30 credits of the 60-credit MBA degree program. The balance of the degree program (30 credits) is through completion of the following:
Core Course Requirements – 21 credits

COMM 5306: Introduction to Marketing (3 credits)
COMM 5406: Organizational Behaviour (3 credits)
COMM 5607: Operations Management (3 credits)
Winter Session (January to April)
COMM 5307: Introduction to Marketing Management (3 credits)
COMM 5407: Organizational Processes (3 credits)
COMM 6006: Business Policy: Strategy Formulation (3 credits)
Spring Session (May to June)
COMM 6007: Business Policy: Strategy Implementation (3 credits)
Elective Course Requirements – 9 credits
Select from various elective options available on-campus during the Fall, Winter and Spring Sessions.
* To graduate students must achieve an overall average of 70% on all MBA courses taken at Laurentian University and have a minimum of 60% in each course.
Application Process
Applications are now being accepted for students who want to begin the MBA program in September 2013. The deadline to apply for the 2013-2014 academic year is December 31, 2012.
Minimum Admission Requirements
TOEFL and GMAT testing are not required.
Fee
A $60 non-refundable application fee payable to "Laurentian University" must accompany each application.
