With a population just over 186,000, it is a medium-sized city which is urban enough to offer great diversity in social and cultural opportunities, yet small enough to make it feel like home. Barrie is a vibrant and attractive city with beaches, challenging alpine ski runs, parklands – more than 90 parks – biking, rollerblading and walking trails, many of which line the waterway.
