HEAD COACH - Ryan Lafraniere

Ryan is a NCCP Level III certified coach and NCCP Multi-Sport Learning Facilitator. Ryan is also a Learning Facilitator for the Northern Ontario Curling Association (NOCA), a current member of the NOCA’s Development Committee, and Director of the Ontario Curling Council. Ryan additionally serves on the Ontario Quest for Gold Selection Committee to nominate athletes for Ontario carding status.

 

Ryan has been an instructor at the Amethyst Curling Camp in Sudbury since 2007 and at the Alberta Rocks Curling Camp in Edmonton since 2011.  He has instructed at a number of curling clinics and coaching symposiums over the years, and has coached bantam, junior and high school curling teams.

 

As a competitive curler, Ryan has played in several provincial junior and mens championships. He has competed in three national championships, having curled at the 2004 Canadian Junior Championships in Victoria, British Columbia. He also represented Laurentian University at two Canadian University Championships, while being named an OUA All-Star and CIS Academic All-Canadian during his time at Laurentian University.

 

Ryan is a Laurentian University alumnus, having graduated from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and is a high school Science and Mathematics Teacher with the Rainbow District School Board. He is looking forward to an exciting and successful curling year with both the Voyageur and Lady Vees Curling Teams.
