Biomedical physics is a discipline which integrates the study of human biology with the aspects of physics that apply to health sciences and technology. The Biomedical Physics Program covers such topics as medical imaging, radiation treatment, biophysics of the circulatory system, vision and hearing. Since the main goal is to give a global perspective of the discipline, a high level of mathematical sophistication is not required. The degree offers students much-needed choices in future science careers at a time of rapid change in the workplace and continued expansion in the biological and physical sciences.
• Three-year program leads to a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Physics
• Solid preparation for professional certification in healthcare fields
• Courses in physics, calculus, chemistry, human anatomy, physiology, biology, mathematics and psychology
• Department works in conjunction with researchers at the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre
