In the Communication Studies program, classroom theory is integrated with hands-on experience in order to build a firm foundation for working creatively, and with success, in the world of communications. The combination of university and college studies within the program creates an opportunity for students to practice careerrelated skills while learning about communications and media theory, policy and ethics. Students develop media skills while studying the cultural relevance of media and communications.
• Four-year program leads to an Honours Bachelor of Arts
• Cooperative program offered by Laurentian, Huntington University and Cambrian College in Sudbury
• After three years of study at Laurentian, students can take one year in a specialized field in public relations at Cambrian College, or continue with communication courses on campus to obtain a college diploma
• Cambrian College graduates of public relations, may complete the degree program in one or two years

• Minimum average of 70%

Credit transfer opportunities are available from other recognized postsecondary institutions and are typically evaluated on an individual basis. Some fast-tracking opportunities also exist. Collaborative agreements with Cambrian College and Georgian College are also in place for this program.
