Environmental Science is, by its very nature, a multidisciplinary program. A balanced portfolio of sciences and related subjects will build depth in areas of biology, geology (earth sciences), geography and chemistry. Environmental ethics, risk and impact assessment, and environmental sustainability will be integrated. Through this breadth of subjects, students will understand the nature and impact that humans have on the habitat, on both a local and much wider scale. Set in the context of Northern Ontario, the program addresses challenges on land and aquatic ecosystems, while it aims to integrate the historical importance of the region’s resource industry.
• Four-year program leads to an Honours Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science
• Multidisciplinary program includes courses in biology, geology (earth sciences), geography and chemistry
• Program is flexible and designed to help students become familiar with the basic science concepts and human aspects of the Environment
• Students can tailor their program to at least one major discipline in the Sciences with various Major and Minor combinations offered by the program
