Overview

Limited enrolment program that develops the professional, arts and science background required for the promotion of a healthy and physically active lifestyle

• Main focus is to provide leadership skills required for the promotion of a healthy and physically active lifestyle with focus on counselling in physical fitness, nutritional awareness, stress management, environmental sensitivity and health oriented self discipline
• Program endorses the Health Promotion without Borders program that allows students to gain experiential learning in countries abroad and study international issues.

PHED 1506 – Anatomy and Kinesiology I + lab

PHED 1507 – Anatomy and Kinesiology II + lab

PSYC 1105 – Introduction to Psychology

+ electives (3 cr) in chemistry (CHMI 1202 recommended)

+ electives (6 cr) in humanities, social sciences or sciences which are non-PHED courses.

Credit Transfer

Credit transfer opportunities are available from other recognized postsecondary institutions and are typically evaluated on an individual basis. Some fast-tracking opportunities also exist.

Several formal collaborative agreements with Cambrian College are also in place for this program.
