Women's hockey announces final recruiting class

SUDBURY, ON – The Laurentian Voyageurs women’s hockey team and head coach Stacey Colarossi are pleased to announce the final wave of recruits for the upcoming 2013-14 season; a quartet of players in Victoria Medeiros (Oakville, ON), Nicole Vigilanti (Woodbridge, ON), Samantha Morell (Smiths Falls, ON) and Elissa Bertuzzi (Lively, ON).

 

Medeiros, who will be enrolled in the Communications program at Laurentian next September, is a 5’5” tall forward who will bring a defensive aspect to the lineup.  Playing with her Oakville Hornets team, Medeiros led her team in scoring in the playoffs with 4 points in three games.

 

Medeiros looks forward to becoming a part of the Voyageurs inaugural team next season. 'I look forward to representing Laurentian University and being a part of the inaugural team is extremely exciting for me. Surrounding myself with all of the genuine people I’ve met so far is another thing I’m really looking forward to.”

 

Medeiros was also drawn to the setting surrounding the Laurentian campus. “I really loved the city of Sudbury and the people I met. The campus itself is in a beautiful part of the city; it has lots of trails and lakes that add to its beauty.”
