Voyageur season is approaching fast!

The 2013-14 OUA schedules have been released and it is going to be a busy season for your Voyageurs.  The soccer teams open up the varsity schedule on Labour Day weekend on the road before having the honor of kicking off the Voyageurs home season.

Our Voyageurs Soccer teams will be taking on the Queen’s Gaels September 14^th and the RMC Paladins the 15^th at the Laurentian Field. Both these game days will be featuring our women’s team at 1:00pm and our men’s teams at 3:15pm. Our pot bangers will then have to wait till October for our next home game featuring our brand new Women’s Voyageurs hockey team.

On the 5^th of October they will be taking on the Guelph Gryphons and on the 6^th the Brock Badgers at the Countryside Arena.  These games will be at 7:00pm and 2:00pm. As for our men’s hockey team, they will hit home ice for the first time on the 25^th and 26^th of October. They will be battling against the UOIT Ridgebacks on the 25^th and the Queen’s Gaels on the 26^th at 7:30pm, both nights at the Countryside arena.

On October 26th and 27th the Voyageurs swim team dives into the pool for a tri-meet with York and Waterloo.  Action begins at 5pm on the 26th and resumes at 10am on the 27th.  The swim team has added a number of key recruits this season and the youth, mixed with some veteran leadership, will make for an exciting season in the pool.

Last but certainly not least, our Basketball squads will tear up the court for the first time on the November 8^th weekend. That weekend will be headlining games versus the McMaster Marauders on the 8^th and the Brock Badgers on the 9^th, both at the Ben Avery Gymnasium.  The women’s teams will be playing at 6:00pm and the men’s teams will be playing at 8:00pm.

There is still three more months before the academic year begins but the excitement for the upcoming season is clearly present in the heart of our athletes who have been invading the gym preparing for next year. Be prepared ladies and gentlemen, our Voyageurs will be stronger than ever.
