Take care of the little extra! Supplementary application procedures
There are additional application requirements for certain programs at Laurentian University. For some programs, students must submit personal profiles or pass auditions. It is therefore important to carefully look into the program of interest and follow application instructions carefully. The following table summarizes the programs which require supplementary application procedures.

| Fine Arts | Audition |
All students applying to either Music or Theatre Performance must complete an audition. The Auditions includes: Two prepared (memorized) contrasting monologues, one dramatic and one comedic, or one classical and one modern. Each must be no longer than two minutes and must come from a published play.
Applicants will be asked to work with the group to do: 1. Cold reads from scripts. 2. Creative movements. 3. Improvisational work. Students can dress in loose clothing to allow freedom of movement.
Auditions will also include a brief interview/discussion. Depending on the number of applicants, students should be prepared to spend from one to three hours at the audition. Change rooms are available. Candidates MUST bring a resume and three letters of reference. Applicants are encouraged to bring a photo to the audition. Audition Theory Dictation Placement test |
Applicants must perform an entrance audition in their principal instrument or voice. All performers are required to play or sing two pieces in contrasting styles. All instrumentalists are required to play technical exercises or scales appropriate to their instrument. Auditions and placement tests are help at various times in mid-March. More information. |
