 When I received the results of my last course in the online MBA program, I noted how quickly the 15 months of studies went by!  I enjoyed learning online as it provided me with the flexibility I needed to balance my studies with my full-time job and family commitments.  I also enjoyed the collaboration requirement of the program as I had the opportunity to work with a network of peers who came from various business backgrounds. As team dynamics are a major component in our daily work lives, the online learning experience provided a great opportunity to hone my communication and leadership skills.  I would recommend this journey to all of my colleagues!

In my current profession, I interact with a wide variety of accounting professionals on a daily basis. Over time, it noticed that many of these professionals were going back to school to earn an MBA as the new level of education required in the business world.  This led me to do some research on MBA programs available. I was looking for a program from a well recognized Canadian University in addition to a program that would allow me to set the hours during which I would focus on my studies. Having a young family, I did not want to spend my weekends at a campus. Instead, the thought of being able to set aside late evening hours when our house was quiet was very appealing. As well, I travel regularly for my employer and I needed added flexibility to remain employed full time.  The Laurentian University online MBA program was my answer.

As it had been almost 10 years since I completed my CGA studies, many of which were by correspondence, I was somewhat hesitant at the thought of commencing an MBA program through an online environment. This concern quickly disappeared when I participated in an online orientation session held with the LU support staff and first time MBA students.

The support from fellow team members and the professors made the online experience very enjoyable. I learned greatly from other students who came from different backgrounds and brought various perspectives.  The online environment also allowed for ongoing collaboration and efficiency - as opposed to waiting a week until the next class to ask a question, we were always able to resolve the matter in a day and move on. The portability of the programs also provided me with the opportunity to travel internationally during my studies!

In summary, I highly recommend the Laurentian University online MBA program for those of you who are looking for a supportive and flexible environment combined with a relevant and interesting curriculum.
