Course Description

This course examines the social implications of disability in Canadian society. In particular, it examines issues that impact on the well-being of persons with disabilities, including poverty, education, unemployment, violence, and gender. Topics include the evolution of public policies, social programs, and the perspectives used by human service professionals to frame disability issues. PREREQ: SWLF 1006/1007 or permission of the instructor. (lec 3) cr 3.
