This course introduces the structure and function of proteins and nucleic acids. Topics include protein structure and function, nucleic acid chemistry, DNA and its replication, the genetic code and protein synthesis, regulation of gene expression, cloning and gene isolation, DNA sequencing, and enzyme kinetics.
