An introduction to the principles of chemical thermodynamics including the first, second and third laws of thermodynamics and the relations of thermodynamic functions to chemical equilibria in the ideal and nonideal solid, liquid and gaseous states. Includes elementary applications of the phase rule. No credit for students in Chemistry or Biochemistry programs. Students may not retain credit for both CHMI 2526 & 2516. PREREQ: CHMI 1006/7 & MATH 1036. (lec 3, lab equivalent workload, tut 1) 3 cr
