Examines human violence from the perspective of gender. Various forms of violence against women are explored, including the causes and interconnectedness of specific issues, the methodological and ideological assumptions of various sources of information, and the effectiveness of proposed solutions. As well, this course will consider women's own violent behaviour and the extent to which global violence may be understood in the context of gender. PREREQ: 6 credits of WOMN courses.
