This course provides a general introduction to social/cultural anthropology (a general survey of the field, with a concentration on the comparative analysis of culture, using examples from different societies around the world); anthropological linguistics (focussing on the origin, structure, distribution and social/cultural aspects of human languages) and applied anthropology (the identification and resolution of practical problems via anthropological methods).
