This course is a study of the ecophysiological aspects of animal life and the principles of adaptation. It includes an examination of the physiological responses of vertebrates to such environmental factors as temperature, light, drought, humidity, salinity, atmospheric pressure, oxygen levels, etc. and explores those strategies which allow vertebrates to adapt to rigorous climatic conditions and selected environmental habitats.
