This course examines fundamental concepts of molecular genetics from genome anatomy to molecular phylogenetics. It also explores the application of these concepts in genetic techniques and biomedical research. Models for the molecular basis of genetics processes are discussed, including comparisons of both prokaryotic and eukaryotic models. Particular focus is given to recent advances in molecular genetics and genomes. PREREQ: BIOL 2007. (lec 3) cr 3.
